Impending Airport Closures
KSBP is slated to suspend flight operations later this summer for a taxiway expansion project.
A new taxiway, Bravo 3, will be constructed to link Runway 11‑29 with the general aviation apron (and AKS parking!). The addition of Bravo 3 should reduce reliance on taxiways Echo and Mike. The project also includes mill-and-overlay pavement work on taxiways Echo and Mike, and upgrades to drainage and electrical systems in the vicinity.
The airport is expected to close nightly beginning August 4th through September 20th, culminating in a 55-hour closure from September 22nd to September 24th.
